About AFL Townsville Umpires Association
The Townsville AFL Umpires Association is dedicated to the training, development and welfare of umpires who officiate AFL games across the Townsville area.
We welcome everyone to come and give umpiring a try. If you currently play Australian Rules football, umpiring will help with your game knowledge and if you are in the twilight of your playing years, umpiring is a great way to stay involved. AFLTUA participate in pathway development programs that can allow aspiring umpires to progress to officiate at QAFL, NEAFL and even AFL level competition.
We endeavour to provide a family friendly association and create an atmosphere where everyone is comfortable. We have umpires of all ages ranging from 12 to 60+, both male and female. We often have several family members umpiring together and in some cases whole families are involved with umpiring and supporting the umpire team on match day.

You Get Paid to Umpire
Yes you get paid to umpire! AFLTUA umpires are paid for every regular season and finals game they officiate and payments are made direct to your nominated bank account every 4-6 weeks. Payment rates are dependent on your discipline and the grade level you are umpiring. You can be paid to do something you enjoy - being involved in local Australian Rules football.
