Membership

To join AFLTUA, there are a few requirements and forms that need completing:

  1. Anyone wishing to umpire in Queensland must register with AFLQ via OfficialsHQ Registration.

  2. AFLTUA Membership (separate to OfficialsHQ) needs to be approved by the Committee.

  3. All prospective members must complete a AFLTUA Membership form online. Under 18's must provide parental consent by completing the paper form as a parent's signature is required. If completing the paper form, please provide it to the Association Secretary at training or via email.

  4. All members must read, understand and agree to abide by all AFLTUA Constitution, Code of Conduct, handbooks, policies, procedures and guidelines listed here.

Queensland Blue Cards (Working with Children and Young Persons)

  1. Any Umpire over the age of 18 must hold a current Blue Card before they can be appointed to umpire a game.

  2. Umpires are classed as volunteers, so unless you require a card for work as well, you do not need to pay for the card.

  3. You need to present this card to the RUM and Secretary before you can be appointed to games. If you do not have a current Blue Card - unfortunately we cannot appoint you to umpire until such time as you have one.

  4. Information on how to apply can be found via this link. You can apply for a blue card online or download a paper form. If you have further queries, please contact the Secretary.

  5. Your form of ID must be photo ID from the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

  6. Once you have a card, you must then supply your card details to both AFLTUA as part of your membership, and to AFLQ via your Sports TG registration.

  7. Both organisations then link you to their respective organisations.  In the case of AFLTUA, this is done by the Secretary via an online portal.

  8. If you are a Social Member, we also ask that you hold a Blue Card.
